Nacogdoches may be the oldest town in the state, but it sure wonders with many amazing excitement in terms of nature, city festivals, and outdoor family attractions. Nacogdoches is known for its year-round festivals like the Texas Blueberry Festival, Nacogdoches Film Festival, Freedom Fest, Nine Flags Festival and Heritage Festival & Taste of Nacogdoches. Its famous Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden features 6,500 azaleas, 200 camellias, and 180 varieties of Japanese Maple. Locals and visitors also love the Splash Kingdom, SFA Planetarium, and Naca Valley Vineyard. Nacogdoches is also home to Stephen F. Austin State University.
